Top 2000 Blog Party – Day 7 (finale)

Welcome to the very last day of 2017. Outside there’s an awful lot of noise as the neighbourhood is having fun with their own fireworks. We do have an organised firework show in the city centre, at the parlaiment building, but as long as people are allowed to light their own fireworks, I’m staying safe inside. Besides the fireworks there’s this weird tradition in my city of making bonfires wherever people like. For that one’s there’s also an official alternative at the beach. There’s even a contest for that one. Two revelling city parts (both former beach villages that are now part of the city) have been working for a whole week to build the tallest bonfire. I’ll come back to that at the end of this post. First, music!

For today I’ve chosen the song “Private Investigations" by Dire Straits. It’s been one of my favourite Dire Straits songs since my childhood. The instrumental part left plenty of room for my imagination to make up a movie in my mind. It was a bit a too high aim to try and image that movie on my pages, especially since I had to finish it today. So instead I went for a minimal approach with a big chance of success: a Gelli Plate party. When I thought about a private detective, I thought of Sherlock Holmes, who is as a matter of fact the most famous private detective. I found a very usable image at the Open Clipart website, which I cut with my Silhouetten Cameo. I decided to use the mask part of the cut out. My explanation for my colour choices: I wanted to have something that represented the old of the stories about Sherlock Holmes, for which I chose brown. And I wanted to add the atmosphere of the mystery for which I chose the purple.

Now about those bonfires at the beach. The winning citypart is Duindorp. They built a bonfire measuring almost 30 meter in height. Pretty awesome right. The other citypart, Scheveningen, built a bonfire of a good 25 meter.

Art Journal Goodness

Hello! It’s been such a long time since I posted anything art related, other than photography. I am terribly sorry for my absence lately. If you’d like to see my work on a more regular base, please follow me on Instagram. I’m mebearc over there.

I’ve been quite busy making all kinds of art projects. Sometimes inspired by challenges, sometimes just inspired by whatever comes to me. I’m not going to bore you with small talk, because I know you are here to see art, right? Well, let’s go then!

In February I made two series of ATCs (Artist Trader Cards) and with each set a matching card for the host of the swaps.

In April I made something for Dina Wakley’s monthly challenge in her Facebook group. The prompt was to make something from recycled material. Like all the challenges in Dina’s group, there should be used at least one visible DWM (Dina Wakley Media) product in your project.  I made this art journal page with the Scribble Birds stamp set, which was the start of a new project: a complete art journal made from recycled carton packages.

Since I made the page for Dina’s challenge, I haven’t stopped making new recycled pages. For all the pages I start with a Gelli printed background that I glue onto the carton package (cut to size) and from there I start building my page. And when I feel like joining another challenge, I simply incorporate it with this recycled journal.

This page was made for a challenge in the Miss Kate Cuttables Facebook group, which was to use at least one of her files and make something with the animal theme. This cute cat really spoke to me. In the PNG file the cat was grey, but it was easy to make him a ginger cat when cutting the parts with my Silhouette. Of course I had to use him with a photo of Teddy. This photo was taken short after Teddy came to my home.

After the challenge expired I decided it wasn’t quite finnished yet, so I added some extra details until I was satisfied.

Some days I just made a bunch of backgrounds, that I could work on later. At this poing another project started: recycled coasters. I’ll come back to this in a later blogpost as there is a secret mission with these. Here’s a peek at some of these backgrounds.

 

On Pinterest I collect quotes that appeal to me for whatever reason. I mostly save those I think will come in handy when I’m looking for words to add to my art journal pages. A lot of them are quite sarcastic. It’s my kind of humor. I think they go perfectly together with those women I got in a digital kit by Tumble Fish Studios.

There’s a page about Teddy’s Easter shoot. On this page I used the most adorable easter washi tape by Hema (Dutch brand) and an image by Miss Kate Cuttables.

Sometimes I just go through my stash with ephemera and use what appeals to me. Like this image transfer of a foal that I did years ago as a first try before doing an image transfer on a large page. It was in my stash all these years and now I found a good place for it.

With my new stencil by Dina Wakley I created this background.

And it resulted in this page. The colours may look different, but that’s because I took the first photo in the light of a lamp. The stamp is of the Scribble Girlies set by Dina Wakley. You’d think I get sponsored, but nope, I’m just in love with her gorgeous creations and a big fan of her art. Her books are really amazing, wheather you’re new to art journaling and mixed media or have been doing it for years.

Alright. Well, I’m going to finish this post now. Otherwise there’ll be too much graphics which will make the page slow to load and we don’t want that to happen. I have plenty more to share and am making new stuff on a daily base, so don’t forget to subscribe as a follower to this page or to check and see if there’s any new stuff up. Like always, I’m giving a shout out on my social media when a new page is up, but I’m very much aware that not everyone gets to see my new messages due to Facebooks ever anoying algorythms.

As I’m finishing this writing, Teddy is getting very impatient. It’s an hour past his feeding time and he’s making clear he’s very hungry. Depeninding on what part of the world you’re in, have a great day or goodnight (it’s goodnight at my part of the world).

99 Luftballons & Not An Addict – Top 2000 Blog Party

While I thought this was going to be a great year for joining the Top 2000 Blog Party, because this would be the first year I would spend the days around Christmas and New Year’s eve at home. And so I thought I would have all the time to join this creative party, while listening to all those great songs on the radio. Boy, was I wrong about that! Yes, I am home. That part goes very well. The thing I didn’t think of, were all these appointments I had during these weeks. And all the shopping that needed to be done. I had too many plans this year and thus I seem to be rushing from one thing to another. And I’m happy if I can squeeze in some time to actually make art. So, that’s why this blogpost about today’s played songs, is appearing at the end of the day. Sigh. Time goes so fast! Can you believe tomorrow is the last day of 2016 already?

About the songs and art. I managed to make one spread in my art journal. And since we can send in two art pieces a day, I chose a photo I made. I had two artists to choose from, because I photographed at two of today’s played artist’s gigs. Eventually I went for a photo I never published before (it was still waiting to be post processed).

The first layer of the background of my art journal spread was done with a small Gelli plate. I stamped the clouds with a homemade foam stamp for which I also used the Gelli plate. The air balloons are a stamp I carved quite some years ago. I tried to clear emboss them, but every black ink I own, didn’t keep wet long enough, so the embossing only partially worked. Maybe the paper I used was just soaking up the ink too much. I coloured them with watercolour pencils and went over them with a clear Tombow brush pen. I also added some stencilling to the background using a stencil by Carabelle Studio and a piece of punchinella. I used distress ink (peacock feather). I added some background stamping with a Christy Tomlinson stamp and dark blue Archival ink. Finally some scribbles with a regular pencil and the title stamped with different kinds of stamp sets. And of course it didn’t feel finished without some white splattering. I finally found out how to do splattering with my Posca marker!

Hello Fall - Keep Swimming

While Fall is having the time of her life, I get so inspired. I go outside with my camera to capture the beauty of this time of year when I can. Rainy days have their charm too, as they make perfect days for arts and crafts. I rediscoverd my A6 sized art journal that I bought last year. It’s a great size for making spreads in stead of one page. I love the look of it. Another thing I am finally using, is the old typewriter I bought in a thriftstore a couple of years ago. I found a shop that still sells the ink ribbon and now it’s ready to go.

I made this journal page/spread following a prompt on Instagram. If you are on Instagram, look for the hashtag #sisterswithheartinart to see all the artwork. There’s a new prompt every Wednessday. This prompt was “leaves”. I used my Spelbinders die set to make a stencil. I also punched two bigger leaves with the same set. The circlen figures is a stencil by Carabelle Studio. The paints I used are Amsterdam acrylics, except for the middle sized leaf, for which used Van Gogh watercolours. There’s also a background stamp by Christy Tomlinson.

The page below is my latest. I made it yesterday. Last week I visited a museum (Museon, The Hague) and in the museum shop they sold some adorable Indian wooden stamps, that are originally used to make patterned fabric. This was my first time using them and I am in love. I used them with a 3”x5” Gelli Plate. The images are so sharp! I stencilled a wave pattern (Carabelle Studio) to create more of a sea look and some black dots through a piece of dry wall paper for some extra texture. The quote is from “Finding Nemo” that I typed with my vintage typewriter. I also added some neon pink dashes.

Well, that’s it for today! I have a lot of editing to do, because I took tons of photo’s and there are also quite some more art projects that I’d like to share with you. So I hope to see you back soon!

Gelli Printed Art Journal Flip Through

Hi all! I’m sorry it’s been a while. My laptop was running so slow, it was hardly working. I did try to find a good app, so I could write my blog from my iPad, but unfortunately the only good app that ever existed, ceized to be. I could really do with a new computer, but I had to choose. A new laptop or a new bed. And since my bed is very old and I’m dealing with chronic pain, I really need that new bed. My bestie and I talked everything through and a new idea was born. What if he installed an SSD in my old laptop. It was worth the try. And so he did. Tonight I’m bussy installing all the software I need and boy does this SSD make a difference! My laptop starts within 12 seconds. I hit the on button, take a deep breath and my computer is ready to go. That fast! I’m doing a little happy dance here!

So, finally, I am able to share the video I made. Some of you may already have seen it, since I was able to upload it from my iPad, but I just wasn’t able to share it through my blog yet. I’m still very new to making and editing videos, so please have a little patience while I’m trying to improve. It’s already been watched by nearly 400 people, which makes me very happy and proud. Since I’m all new to this, I could use a little help. If you like my videos (yes, I made a few), please hit the thumbs up button below the video. Card and Art Journal Update

Twee weken geleden ben ik naar de Art Specially beurs in Nijkerk geweest samen met mijn lieve vriendin, Manon. We hebben het reuze naar ons zin gehad en o la la… we hebben onszelf flink verwend! We hebben ook een make & take gevolgd bij KiCo stempels, met dit kaartje als resultaat.
Marja, heel erg bedankt! Het was erg gezellig én leerzaam!

Two weeks ago I went to a stamp and art trade show with my dear friend, Manon. We had a great time and ooh…did we buy ourselves some nice treats! We also did a make & take at KiCo stamps, whit this card as a result.

Vervolgens heb ik nog een heleboel art journal pagina’s om te laten zien! Ik liep wat achter met mijn blogposts en heb daarbij vooral de afgelopen twee weken lekker zitten kliederen. De beurs was een goede inspiratie om weer aan de slag te gaan. Ze zijn allemaal gemaakt in mijn Dylusions journal.

Next I have quite a few art journal pages to show! I was somewhat behind with my blogposts and last couple of weeks I got my hands dirty with some new pages. The trade show was a good inspiration to get back to work. They are all made in my Dylusions journal.

 

achtergrond: dylusions inkt in turquoise en wit, gemengd met iridecent medium (het glinstert heel sterk). Ik heb een stencil afgebeeld met een tamponeerkwast en donkerblauwe verf. Wat achtergrondstempelen met een stempel van Christy Tomlinson. De grote tandwielen zijn een gelli print die ik met mijn Silhouette heb uitgesneden. Nog wat circels toegevoegd en wat tekst and klaar was de pagina (ik vind het resultaat niet heel geweldig).

Added background stamping using one of Christy Tomlinson’s. The large gears are gelli printed and cut out using my silhouette. I added some circles and some words and a page was finished (not liking it much though)

Het paard. Deze pagina heb ik gemaakt voor de jaarlijkse Top 2000 blog party van Marit Barendsen. Ik koos het liedje “Horse With No Name” van America. Het paard heb ik geschetst, ingekleurd met Neo Color II krijtjes, daarna nog een laag met pastel krijtjes. In de achtergrond heb ik wat stencils gebruikt met acrylverf en hier en daar een beetje gele Dylusions. Een achtergrond stempel van Christy Tomlinson. Wat spetters verdunde gesso en een stencil van TCW voor wat textuur (ook met gesso).

The horse. I made this page for the annual Top 2000 blog party by Marit Barendsen. I chose the song “Horse With No Name” by America. I sketched the horse, next coloured it with Neo Color II crayons, next a layer with soft pastel crayons. In the background I  used some stencils with acrylic paints and some spraying with yellow Dylusions. A background stamp by Christy Tomlinson. Some spats with diluted gesso and a stencil by TCW for some texture (also with gesso).

De zeemeermin heb ik vorige week gemaakt. De achtergrond is met turquoise, groene en witte Dylusions. De stempels zijn twee nieuwe: waterdrops van Art Journey en de kleine ronde van KiCo stempels. De afbeelding is een digistempel van Meljen’s Design, die ik heb ingekleurd met Neo Color II krijtjes en geactiveerd met matte medium. Leuk effect geeft dat! Het zeewier heb ik uit de losse pols geschilderd met acrylverf en de tekst komt uit “De Kleine Zeemeermin”.

The mermaid I made last week. The background is done with turqoise, green and white Dylusions. The stamps are two new ones: waterdrops by Art Journey and  the small round one by KiCo stamps. The image is a digistamp by Meljen’s Design, which I coloured with Neo Color II crayons, activated with matte medium. I love the effect! The seaweed I loosely painted with acrylic paint and the text is from “The Little Mermaid”.

Het vogeltje. Wat een zaligheid was deze pagina om te maken. Op de beurs heb ik een 3x5 inch gelli plate gekocht. Daarmee heb ik op mijn pagina gestempeld met acrylverf.  Daarna heb ik gesso over het middelste deel geverfd, zodat ik weer wat speelruimte had. Ik heb gestempeld met Distress Ink. Twee zelfgemaakte stempels en de honingraad van Christy Tomlinson. Wat muziekpapier geplakt. Hier en daar wat geschreven. Ook heb ik nog een heel leuke stempel met rekensommen gebruikt. Het vogeltje is natuurlijk van Dina Wakley. Ingkleurd met Neo Color II en dit uitgesmeerd. De tekst is ook een stempel van Dina.

The scribbly bird. What a bless it was to create this page. At the trade show I bought a 3x5 inch gelli plate. With that I stamped the background with acrylic paints. After that I painted some gesso on the middle part, so I had some playground again. I stamped with Distress ink. Two homemade stamps and the honeycomb by Christy Tomlinson. Adhered some musicpaper. Journaled some here and there. I also used a fun stamps with math. The scribbly bird is of course by Dina Wakley. Coloured it with Neo Color II and spread it with my finger. The text is also a stamp by Dina.

En de laatste pagina. Deze heb ik gemaakt op basis van twee uitdagingen van de Krazy Island Family groep op Facebook, cirkels en abstract. De basis zijn twee kleuren blauwe acrylverf die ik met een linoleumroller over het papier verspreid heb. Ik heb gekliederd met twee kleuren blauwe en een witte acryl inkt en flink wat water. Zo leuk! Ik heb een paar cirkel elementen opgeplakt. Met een cirkelstempel van Carabelle Studio in donkerblauwe Distress inkt gestempeld. Met Peacock Feathers Distress inkt en een sponsje de stippen door een stencil van Dylusions aangebrackt. En als laatste met de achterkant van een penseel de tekst “I’m Blue” geschreven met acryl inkt.

The final page. This one is based on two prompts by the Krazy Island Family group on Facebook, circles and abstract. The base are two shades of blue acrylic paint that I spread over the paper using a brayer. I got messy with two colours of blue and a white acrylic ink and a lot of water. Such fun! (yes, I’m a Miranda fan). I adhered three circle pieces. With a criclestamp by  Carabelle Studio I stamped in darkblue Distress Ink. With Peacock Feathers Distress ink and a sponge I dabbed the dots through a Dylusions stencil. And to finish I used the back of a brush to write the text “I’m Blue” with acrylic ink.

One Two Three

Het heeft een tijd geduurd eer ik weer iets kon laten zien, maar hier zijn dan toch echt weer een paar art journal pagina’s. Wel drie! Ze zijn gemaakt in mijn zelfgemaakte Gelli Prints journal. Een handgebonden journal vol Gelli mono prints. Het is leuk om je te laten inspireren door wat er als basis voor je ligt en van daaruit verder te werken.

It’s been a while before I could show you something new, but here are some art journal pages. Make that three! They’re made in my handmade Gelli Prints journal. A handbound jounal full with Gelli mono prints. It’s fun to get inspired by what lies before you as a base and work from that.

Mijn nieuwe zelfgemaakte circel stempel moest getest worden. Van daaruit ben ik wat gaan spelen met papier, muur tape, gesso, washi tape en roze Neo Color II. Oh en nog een label, zoals je ziet.

My new handmade circle stamp needed a test. From there on I went playing with papers, dry wall tape, gesso, washi tape and pink Neo Color II. Oh and there’s a tag too, as you can see.

Ik had een stencil gemaakt van een jaren ‘69 Volkswagen busje. Met Distress Inkt maakte ik een proef om te zien of ik het stencil op de goede manier had gesneden. Proef geslaagd. Zonde dus om het resultaat weg te gooien. Ik besloot er een echte hippie pagina mee te maken in mijn journal. De zonnestralen zijn ook gemaakt met een zelf gesneden stencil. Rondom het busje heb ik een zwart Derwent Inktense potlood gebruikt. Gaaf spul!

I made stenicil of a 69’s Volkswagen van. With Distress Ink I made a test to see if I cut the stencil the right way. Test aproved. Such a waste to throw it away. So I decided to make a real hippie page with it.  The sun rays are also a stencil I cut myself. Around the van I used a black Derwent Inktense pencil. Cool stuf!

Zien die paarden er goed uit of wat? Ja, ik kan fantastisch goed tekenen. Grapje. Leer deze slimme truc van mij. Ik heb een foto van twee paarden op een lichtbak gelegd. Daarboven plaatste ik mijn papier (geen echt aquarelpapier, maar het was goed genoeg hiervoor). Vervolgens heb ik met een Derwent Inktense potlood de foto van de paarden overgetrokken. Door de lichtbak was dit een fluitje van een cent. Toen de tekening er eenmaal stond, heb ik de lijnen overgetrokken met een waterpenseel. Goed idee toch?

Don’t these horses look gorgeous? Yes, I am master of drawing. Just kidding. Let me teach you this smart trick. I took a photo of two horses and placed it on a lightbox. On top of that I put my paper (not really watercolour paper, but it was good enough for this). Next I traced the horses on the photo with a Derwent Inktense pencil. Because of the lightbox this was a piece of cake. When the drawing was done, I went over the lines with a waterbrush. Good idea, right?

ATC Swap

Op het Scrappers Anonimous forum heb ik vorige maand weer eens meegedaan aan een ATC swap. Het thema was: “Vrij als een vogel”. Ik ben dit keer voor een soort van massaproductie gegaan. Oftewel: drie keer hetzelfde concept. Voor de achtergrond heb ik een lange strook aquarelpapier heel nat gemaakt, daarna met een penseel verschillende tinten blauw aangebracht, dat weer met water besproeid en de boel lekker door elkaar laten lopen. Dit een aantal keer herhaald tot ik tevreden was. Daarna flink drogen en op maat snijden. Daarna heb ik met witte acrylverf de wolken gestempeld. De stempel heb ik gemaakt door een wolk uit knutselrubber te knippen. Wat spetters aangebracht met verdunde acrylverf. Daarna de onderdelen voor de collage uitgeknipt uit papier wat ik gedrukt heb met de Gelli Art plaat. De vogelstempel heb ik uitgesneden uit linoleum. Waar zouden we zijn zonder een stukje washi tape (echt Hema!). Deze omlijnd met een witte pen (Uniball Signo). De afbeelding ook gestempeld op de inmiddels gedroogde achtergrond. Daarna de uitgeknipte stukken gel prints op de afdruk geplakt. Met de witte pen het woord “free” geschreven en dat omlijnd met een zwarte pen (Faber Castell Pitt). De randen van het aquarelpapier met donkerblauwe Distress inkt (Chipped Shapphire) bewerkt en op een wit stuk cardstock van 2,5 x 3,5 inch geplakt.

Last month I joined an ATC swap at a scrappers messageboard  once again. It’s theme was “Free as a bird”. This time I went for a kind of massproduction. Simply put: three times the same concept. For the background I used a long strip of watercolourpaper and made it really wet, after that I applied several shades of blue with a brush, sprayed even more water and let the goo run. Repeated this a couple of times until I was satisfied. Then let it dry thoroughly and cut it to size. Then stamped white clouds with white acrylic paint. The stamps were made by cutting a cloud shape out of foam. Some splatters of thinned acrylic paint were added. After which I stamped and cut out the parts for the collage bird from gel printed paper. I carved the birdstamp out of linoleum. Where would we be without a  a piece of washi tape. Lined around it with a white pen (Uniball Signo). The image was also stamped on the now dried background. After that I adhered the cut pieces of gel prints. The word “free” was written with the white pen and lined with a black pen (Faber Castell Pitt). The edges of the watercolourpaper were inked with dark blue Distress ink (Chipped Sapphire) and then stuck onto a white piece of cardstock sized 2.5 x 3.5 inches.

Star

Ik begin te ontdekken hoe je met de Gelli Arts gel printing plate zelf leuk dessinpapier kunt maken. De verzameling gel prints in mijn map begint dus weer steeds groter te worden. Ik hou de dessins wat eenvoudig zodat ze makkelijker met elkaar te combineren zijn. Ook de stervorm die ik met de Silhouette gesneden heb, is papier wat ik zelf gedrukt heb. Het moest een mannelijke verjaardagskaart worden. Stiekeme bekentenis: op de tag had ik happy birthday geschreven, maar er was zo weinig plaats, dat het geen fraai gezicht was. Een tijd terug had Lia van De Craftorij me een flesje distress stickles cadeau gedaan. Kwam dat nu even mooi uit. Ik heb de stickles met mijn vinger over de tag uitgesmeerd. Het resultaat leek een beetje roest-achtig. Op de binnenkant van de kaart heb ik alsnog happy birthday gestempeld.

I’m starting to find out how I can use the Gelli Arts gel printing plate to create my own designpapers. The stash of gel prints in my folder is starting to grow once again. I keep the designs quite simple so they are easier to match each other. Even the star shape that I cut with my Silhouette, is made with my own printed paper. It was supposed to be a masculine birthday card. Secret confession: on the tag I wrote happy birthday, but there was so little space, it wasn’t a pretty sight. I got a gift with an order by De Craftorij a while ago, Distress stickles. This came in handy. I spread the stickles out with my finger. The result seems a bit rust-ish. On the inside of the card I stamped Happy Birthday after all.

2 Art Journal Pages

Wat een toeval. De olympische spelen waren net afgelopen en de volgende pagina in mijn gel print album was oranje met goud. Dat vroeg om een eerbetoon aan de Nederlandse schaatsers die een medaille hebben gewonnen. Wat hebben ze het goed gedaan!

Such a coincidence. The olympic games had just finished and the next page in my gel print album was orange with gold. That just asked to honor the Dutch ice skaters that won a medal. Proud of what they did!

Voor de volgende pagina wilde ik graag een keer een gezicht proberen. Ik vond het lastig, maar uiteindelijk ben ik niet geheel ontevreden. In de immer voortdurende zoektocht naar de ideale pennen, kan ik de Pitt pennen van Faber Castell van harte aanbevelen. Dit is de eerste keer dat ik ermee werkte en watervast betekent in dit geval dus echt watervast. Met de kleinste penpunt (xs) kun je heel gedetailleerd werken.

For the next page I wanted to try a face. I found it rather difficult, but in the end I’m not that unsatisfied. I the everlasting search for the best pens, I can highly recommand the Pitt pens by Faber Castell. This is the first time I worked with them and waterproof really means waterproof in this case. With the smallest tip (xs) you can work in details very well.

Three Pages

Ik had een hele stapel met gelli prints en besloot daar een hand gebonden journal van te maken. De foto’s van het album post ik later. Nu mag ik mooie pagina’s maken. Leuk! Het is wel wat raar om op een niet blanco pagina te beginnen. Het meeste werk blijkt al gedaan. Dit vereist een heel andere aanpak. Tot dusver vind ik het erg leuk.

I had a whole bunch of gelli prints and decided to turn them into a hand bound journal. I will post photos of that later. Now the fun has started to make pretty pages. It’s somewhat strange to start on a not blank page. Most of the work appears to be already done. This needs another approach. So far, I like it.

De eerste pagina voelde erg onwennig. Er is erg veel tijd verloren gegaan met nadenken. Tja, typisch iets voor mij. Sommige mensen voelen zich overweldigd door een blanco pagina. Dat gevoel had ik juist met deze geprinte pagina.

The first page felt realy uncomfortable. A lot of time got lost in thinking. Typical me. Some people feel overwhelmed by a blank page. That was the feeling I had with this printed page.

Bij mijn tweede pagina wist ik dat ik dit anders moest behandelen. Los laten. Juist ja. Alsof ik dat kan. Dus heb ik een rand geschilderd en daar een tweede laag aan toegevoegd. Een cutie girl van Jennibellie opgeplakt. Daarna bedacht ik dat het enkel nog wat tekst nodig had. Iets van tekst. Ja, nou dat heeft me voor de rest van de avond Pinterest gekost. I vond dat het ook bij het meisje moest passen.

At the second page I knew I had to handel this journal diffent. Loosen up. Right. As if I could. So I painted the border, added another layer to the border. Adhered this cutie girl by Jennibellie. Then I thought all it needed was just some words. Some words. Yes, well that took me a lot of hours spent on Pinterst. I felt it needed to fit the girl.

Die tekst had me op de vorige pagina teveel moeite en tijd gekost. Nu een andere aanpak. Laat ik beginnen met een tekst en dan verzinnen wat ik daarbij uit wil beelden. Hé! Deze pagina ging eigenlijk best heel lekker! De tekst is van John Lennon.

Scrappers Anonimous is verhuisd naar een nieuwe host. Zelfde forum, nieuw adres. Je vindt het forum hier. Nieuwe leden altijd welkom! Speciaal om dit te vieren, bedacht het beheer een leuke openingswedstrijd. Ons nieuwe huis (forum) heeft een nieuw naambordje (logo) gekregen. De opdracht voor de openingswedstrijd luidde: maak een kaart of layout, geïnspireerd door het nieuwe logo. Dit is de kaart die ik gemaakt heb. Rara welk boek is opgeofferd voor het hart?

Scrappers Anonimous has moved to another host. Same messageboard, new address. You can find the messageboard over here. It’s completely Dutch though. Nontheless, I assume you are also very welcome if you speak English. To celebrate this, the hosts made up a very nice opening challenge. Our new home (messageboard) got a new nametag (logo). The prompt for the challenge was: make a card or layout, inspired by the new logo. This is the card I made. Guess what book has been sacrificed for the heart?

December Daily: 21, 23 & 24

Het is mij niet ontgaan dat het inmiddels geen december meer is, maar dat wil niet zeggen dat het project van de December Daily al klaar is. Sterker nog, ik ben bang dat het weleens zomer kan zijn tegen de tijd dat ik klaar ben. Zoals bekend, gaat mijn werkproces nogal langzaam en als daar dan ook nog eens gezondheidsproblemen bij komen, ga ik echt met het tempo van een slak. Deze pagina’s had ik echter wel nog in december gemaakt.

I haven’t missed the fact it’s not December anymore, but that doesn’t mean the project December Daily has already been finished. As a matter of fact, I’m afraid it could take untill summer for me to finish this. As known, my working process is very slow and if my health issues come into play, I’m really moving at the speed of a snail. However, these pages I did make in December.

 

Ik heb gemerkt dat ik zonder foto’s erg geneigd ben om vooral de stijl van art journaling op te gaan. De afgelopen tijd heb ik me dus vooral geconcentreerd op het uitzoeken en bewerken van foto’s. Zodra die besteld en in huis zijn, kan ik me meer toespitsen op het scrappen. Dit album zou immers een mix worden met van alles wat.

I’ve noticed that without pictures I tend to go mainly in the direction of the style of art journaling. So past few weeks I’ve mainly focused on choosing and post-processing photos. As soon as these are ordered and delivered, I can concentrate more on scrapping. This album was supposed to be a mix of all kinds.
