Spring In Pink (and a touch of purple)

Hello! Like I mentioned in my previous poste, I’ve got some photos to share with you. They were taken during the last couple of weeks and have something in comment. They are spring bloomings and they are quite pink, except for one that is purple, but well, purple is close to pink right? I’m still playing around with my new vintage 50mm lens and I like it a lot!

This is the purple photo. I call it “tulip in the city” as you can see the large buildings in the background.

 

Let’s move on to the pink. I adore the vivid colours of the rhododendron flowers. I think they look kind of exotic.

Yes, I know. The sunlight was too bright, but I couldn’t really change that, could I? And coming back later that day, wasn’t an option. I still like how the photos turned out.

Don’t you love the pink flowers? As much as I adore the rhododendron’s flowers, I am absolutely in love with the sakura, better known as cherry blossoms.

I tried to capture their beauty as best as I could.

I just can’t get enough of them.

I saved the best for last. This is a photo I am very proud of. It hardly needed any post-processing. I know taking good pictures isn’t about having the best gear, but I do notice the difference with this prime lens. It’s vintage, but it sure is good glass. The conditions for taking this photo were also really good. Even though it was the same (too) bright sunlight as in the rhododendron pictures. I took my time to get it all nice in frame, adjusted my settings et voila! I hope you like it as much as I do. I call this one “sakura lush”.

Allright. That’s it for today. I don’t have any pink spring delightness left anymore. I will go exploring what other kinds of spring colours are waiting to get captured. Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you back soon!

Japanese Garden

Afgelopen maandag ben ik naar de Japanse Tuin op landgoed Clingendael geweest. Mijn gezelschap was een fotograaf. Spannend! Ik ging iets leren. Ik heb mijn camera weer iets beter leren kennen. Nooit geweten wat nou de functie van dat knopje AE-L was. Nu weet ik het: lichtmeting. Zonder die functie zou de Buddha nauwelijks zichtbaar geweest zijn (ik heb het getest). Toegegeven, ik ben niet kapot van de foto’s die ik gemaakt heb. Had nogal plankenkoorts haha. Nu stond er een pro naast me. En het oefenen met de nieuwe informatie, maakte dat ik iets minder gefocust was op de andere elementen. Letterlijk minder gefocust, want het grootste deel van de foto’s had een verkeerde scherpstelling. Misschien ga ik vanmiddag nog een nieuwe poging wagen in m’n eentje. De tuin gaat maandag alweer dicht voor publiek.

Last Monday I went to the Japanese Garden at the estate Clingendael. My company was a photographer. Exiting! I was about to learn something new. I got to know my camera a little better. Never new what the purpose of that button AE-Lwas. Now I know: light measuring. Without that button the Buddha would have been hardly visible (I tested it). Must admit, I am not that thrilled about the photos I made. I got cold feet haha. Now a pro was standing next to me. And working with the new information, made me less focussed on the other elements. Litteraly less focussed, as most of my photos were focussed on the wrong spots. Maybe I will take another try today by myself. Monday the gardel will close for public.

I'm Home & Enjoying Springtime :)

Hiep hoi! Ik ben weer thuis. Dat ging onverwacht heel snel. Nou beter, want zoals ik al schreef (vlak voor ik de toko uitgezet werd vanwege sluitingstijd), ik was het al lang zat ;) Dank voor de lieve beterschapwensen.
Vandaag enorm genoten van deze dag waarop de lente officieel een feit is. En wat een lekker weer hadden we hier in Den Haag! Ik ben naar de stoffenbeurs geweest en heb schandalig veel gekocht. Alleen aan lintjes, kantjes en knopen was ik al 40 euro kwijt. Toen was ik nog maar net gearriveerd hahaha. Ook nog een aantal mooie stoffen kunnen bemachtigen voor een leuke prijs. 
Daarna ben ik, gewapend met camera op jacht gegaan naar tastbaar bewijs dat het nu echt lente is. Met succes :) Hier alvast een impressie van de krokussen. Morgen volgen andere foto's.

Yay! I'm back home. That went surprisingly fast. Well, it better did, because I was so fed up with it ;) Thanks for wishing me well.
Today I enjoyed the day spring has officially become a fact. And we had such lovely weather over here! I went to the fabricmarket and bought a disgraceful lot of yummie stuff. Alone the ribbons, laces and buttons cost me 40 euro's. I had only just arived at that moment hahaha. I also managed to get hold of some pretty fabrics for a nice price.
After that, armed with my camera I went on a hunt for some evident proof of the fact it is really springtime now. I was lucky :) Here is an impression of the crocusses I shot. Tomorrow I will post other pictures.






Deze meeuw was zo grappig om te zien. Hij was op de grond aan het trappelen, om zo de wormen naar boven te lokken. Dat tapdansen temidden van die zee van krokussen zag er echt heel leuk uit.
This sea-gul was so funny to watch. He was tapping on the ground, to make the worms come up. This tapdancing between the sea of crocusses looked really funny.



Dank voor het kijken enne...die blogcandy is nog steeds in de maak hoor. Er komt steeds weer iets bij, dus hou me in de gaten ;)
Thanks for looking and erm...that blogcandy is still being made. There comes a little extra to it every time, so keep an eye on me ;)

Inmiddels zijn deze bloessems wel uitgebloeid. Des te leuker om ze dan juist nu hier te laten zien. Kunnen we er toch nog even van nagenieten...
At this moment these blossoms are finished flowering. The more fun it is to show them right now. This way we are still able to relish the memory...
