Elfenbankje

Ik hoor jullie al denken: Een elfenbankje? In de lente?
Jawel. Elfenbankjes kun je het hele jaar door vinden.
Het bijzondere van deze is dat hij elk jaar op precies dezelfde plek weer terug komt. De ene keer nog mooier dan de andere keer. Afgelopen herfst had ik ook foto's gemaakt van deze boom met elfenbankjes, maar ik moet zeggen dat ze toen lang zo mooi niet waren dan nu! En wat een geluk dat ik juist maandag deze op de foto kon zetten. 's Avonds en 's nachts is het hier noodweer geweest, wat de paddenstoel geen goed heeft gedaan.

I can hear you thinking: A shelf fungus? In springtime?
Yes indeed. Shelf fungi can be found all year trough.
The special thing about this shelf fungus is it comes back every year right at the same spot. One time even prettier than the other time. Last autumn I also made pictures of this tree and the shelf fungus, but I must say it didn't look as pretty as it does now! And such a luck I could take this picture monday. That very night there was some very heavy weather over here and that didn't do the fungus any good. By the way, did you know in Dutch the shelf fungus is called a fairies-couch? Can you imagine the fairies sitting on the shelfs together as they tell their stories?
